what is the difference between a "chucking reamer" and a "hand reamer" any reason why i can't use either one in a lathe chuck?

A chucking reamer is used to enlarge an undersize drilled hole, a hand reamer is used to finish a undersized reamed hole or a bored hole to an accurate size, they are not to be used for removing ore than a few thousandths at most. There is no reason that a hand reamer could be used in a lathe chuck for its intended purpose, this is frequently done. given the nature of a chucking reamer and its intended use, they are commonly used in a drill chuck in the tailstock, or in a drill press. Also, another difference, hand reamers are commonly carbon steel and must be run slower than HSS, which nearly all chucking reamers are made of.
