Good morning - I recently acquired a RAPID CUT 2 power hacksaw. There are no manufacturer markings but I have discovered it was made by Robertson Manufacturing in Buffalo, NY - in the early 1900's (as far as I can tell at this point). It has seen its share of "upgrades" and missing parts. I don't have much hope of finding a manual but was hoping someone had one of these in more original condition that could give me some guidance. Specifically I'm looking for information in the areas of how it was designed to lift on the back stroke and how the clutch kick out was designed.

Thanks for any information or leads you can provide

Rick,

For all things related to vintage machinery, a good place to start is http://www.vintagemachinery.org

I found these saws there. Anything like yours?: http://www.vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=2800&tab=4

While there I also found advertising of sorts (attached), with some instructions, but no manual yet.

Good luck on the hunt!
