I have a piston type quick change tool post 250-100 and am using AXA 250-101 tool holders.

I was doing some boring and when I went to release the tool post, it would not budge. The lever to retract the piston is totally stuck. I put the wool post in a vise and gave the handle a good whack to no avail.

it’s now soaking in PB blaster.

Any ideas?

At the risk of stating the obvious, are you attempting to loosen in the right direction? If your tool post is set up with the two positions to the left and back, turning the lever clockwise will loosen the left position but tighten the back position.

If you've never done it, it might be worth disassembling, cleaning and lubing your toolpost.
When I bought mine, it was dirty and lube-free.

mine gums up every so often, probably from chips finding their way under the top cap. The pistons are fine, but the top cap or barrel can get sticky. They're pretty simple to pull apart, clean and regrease though.

@agshooter - In case you haven't heard of this technique ... the way to disassemble a piston tool post is to rotate the handle until one piston is fully out. Grab it by the edges with vise grips. Then rotate the handle until the other piston is fully out. You can then pull the handle upward to get it (and the cylindrical cam) out. Once the handle-cam is out, you can grab the inside ends of the pistons with narrow nose vise-grips and unscrew the socket head cap screws that hold the rectangular faces to the pistons.

Yeah I was able to tear it all down and lube it up before using again. Not difficult to disassemble, once I got the tool holder free.
