question on a machine

I know nothing about that machine so I can't answer that part. I will give you some advice though, for your first mill go vertical not horizontal. You will be limited to what you can do with the horizontal. Others will probably differ in their answers but I stand by mine.

yes bill i understand that, this will easily fit in my garage and fits the budget a lot better than a vertical one does. I would love to have an actual bridgeport and plan to in the near future, was just thinking this could be a quick and easy stop gap

For $250, if the machine is solid, you can't go wrong. It certainly looks good in the photos. I say check it for wear....and if it looks good buy it. It's compact, cheap to move, and it'll certainly be better than nothing.

I agree it isnt a very good choice for a first machine --- but, geez that little thing looks nice:thumbsup: and the price....

I'd agree with both the previous posters! :))

As Bill said, you really don't want your first mill to be a horizontal, but for the money it looks an absolute bargain and it would be a great project to restore.
It would be a good machine to have available to you once you have a shop set up, but you wouldn't want to learn milling on it, and it would probably be your least used machine once you have a lathe, vertical mill, surface grinder, etc., etc.

i think im gonna get it. like i said for 200 bucks it wont be a huge loss if it sucks. right now it would be great just to have the ability to cut flats instead of grinding lol. plus its footprint is very small so i think it would be a good little tool to have.

Go for it. The price is right. We were just letting you know what to expect from it.
