Due to my hobby money being needed elsewhere (a loan ) I decided to make the replacements for the broken levers on my recently acquired qcgb. Fools rush in !
If I had realized how long this would take I might not have started .
Started with a block of 6061.
Holes drilled.
I didn't have a 3/4" drill or a boring head for the mill so it was over to the lathe for this hole.
No rotary table yet so I made this jig up.
Band sawed it to rough shape on my converted HF porta-band and finished up on the "rotary table"
Shaped and the gear slot cut.
Finished shaping on my little HF belt/disk sander and some steel wool.
Finished and ready to go.
Now I just have to decide whether to do it again or live with a pair of mismatched levers.
