Q re press punch

What size press punch would be needed to punch out small parts in 14 gauge sheet steel? Low volume work no larger than 2 inches in any direction.

The chart tells you how many tons it takes to punch a given size hole into a given thickness of material.

For a rough rule of thumb, I have always used a ton per linear inch of perimeter for 16 gauge, so it would be safe to use that figure, for a rough estimate, fudging slightly to the conservative side.
