Powertec Belt Sander

A guy locally has one of these for sale, $50 bucks. Is it worth it or is it junk?

I think it depends on the intended use. Probably fine for light duty use but it's gonna be lightweight I'd think.
Offer low and see what happens.

I think I will pass on it; I already have two 8" grinders that I don't like no reason to have a belt sander that I don't like.

For $50 I'd buy it if it was in excellent condition & if I had nothing else. In fact I do have one, a Rikon branded one, bought in 2013. I had nothing else & used it for a while until I got something different. As David said, light duty, it did what I needed. Mine has never gave me any issues but that style is made by many companies so YMMV. I still have it & use it on occassion.
