my poor little 1944 Atlas 10F did not come with a steady rest..I'd really like one of those telescoping ones..
Looks like they go for about $100 on ebay...that seems pretty reasonable
however, I like to try and make tools if possible using the machinery I have..which at this time is a CNC mill and the Atlas.
Is it out of the question to make a functional steady rest out of aluminum using a mill?
What are the consequences of it not being perfectly square/concentric/etc...
Anyone do this?
