Always used manual mills and wanting to get into CNC. So I joined the site to research mills and decided to purchase the PM25 after seeing all of the info and praises of customer service. It was delivered today and got it setup and running. Now just need to figure out all of the details of converting it to CNC.

Welcome aboard! Im pretty sure you can find lots of info here. Please do post alot of your progress we enjoy that. And remember there are no stupid questions !

Welcome aboard DB, you chose well.

Good choice! I have made many barrels of chips with mine and it keeps on kicking. Feel free to have a look at my thread on the PM-25 for more details regarding the CNC conversion than you probably care for.

Congrats! Would love to hear your impressions of it once you've made a few cuts with it.

I find myself staring at the Kurt DX6 more than the PM-25MV :D
I've got a PM-30MV on the way and was contemplating a DX4 or possibly a Glacern gsv-550. I kind of assumed a 6" vise would be too large. Interested to hear your impressions on the PM-25mv with the DX6.

Me too. Vise is bigger than the mill! Both look awesome.

I recently converted my PM25 and followed shooter123456's lead for a lot of it. I used Dave at ArizonaVideo for the ballscrews and mounting hardware. I was very glad I did. It made my life a lot easier. I did the PC and electronics first to keep my mill alive for as long as possible.

I ordered the 3 axis stepper kit, double nut ball screw kit, and ethernet smooth stepper from Automation Technologies yesterday...they said it will be two weeks for the ball screws. He is shipping me the motors, drivers, and smooth stepper so I can build my control panel. And ship the ball screws when they are finished.
