Hey there,
So, today I have to replace stripped out T bolts for my cross slide (compound slide?)
There in a hole in the bottom that they apparently used to install the screws before assembling the compound but there is not enough room to get them out without completely pulling the compound slide off of the lathe.
Am I missing something?
How are others replacing these?
thx,
Jim

Can you back out the cross slide to expose the holes from the bottom?

the only way to replace the 2 bolts is to remove the cross slide.
After I got into it, it actually didn't take very long to do. It's just frustrating because there is a hole already there that "almost" lets you do it without cross slide removal. There's just not quite enough room between the casting and the lead screw.
Oh well, it's done now.
thx
