Hello all. Still waiting on my 1228 to arrive. Suez Canal catastrophe halted shipping.

The manual doesn’t provide me the measurements I need.
Need the measurements of the back splash from attachment to lathe and to the rear and the length and height. It’s for the frame I’m working on. Want to add rear support for back splash.

The difference in footprint is 10 inches longer, I wanted to keep my D1-4 accessories that I had.

I got that off of their web site, I loved learning on the 1228 it was my first lath. I'm still trying to get over some old muscle memory moves from the 1228, but I do like the 1340 better.

I hear ya. The 1228 will be my first lathe and more machine than I expected to have for my first one. I expect it to be a great machine to learn on. What do u like better over the 1228 other than the size and rigidity I’m sure.

Coming in on size is more predictable, and I needed the extra bed length mostly. When I get back started on my bat projects(8 back ordered to make) I will have a better comparison. The motor seems stronger also.
