PM1030 apron removal

Hi all. I received today a new LTC DR-750i which is almost identical to the pm1030. I am trying to remove the carriage and apron assembly. it has both power feed and crossfeed. I have already removed the end bearing and the leadscrew cover. After I get to the end of rack trace and push the carriage it comes to a hard stop. I already removed the bolt at the end of the the bed which acts as a hard stop. I think it has to do with the keyed leadscrew which has the key way ending before the end of the screw. My goal is to remove as much weight as possible so I can get the thing into my basement. I also need to get the motor off. It has a 1.5kw AC motor with a vfd.

Any suggestions on how to remove the carriage?
Any suggestions on the best way to get the motor and ideally the entire head stock off?

I can't wait to get it set up downstairs. --mike
