OK, so here goes another TTS thread. I plan to order a PM-833TV soon and convert it to CNC after a few months of getting used to this machine. However, in terms of toolholding, I was planning on running TTS toolholders since it will make future CNC setups easier.

So here are my questions:

1. Do folks here make their own set screw based TTS holders? Are there drawings for this?
2. What is a good source of Weldon type end mills for such holders?
3. I believe that icarbide is a decent source of TTS ER20 collet chucks for the PM-833TV. Is this right? Are there others that folks recommend. Some of the ebay sellers mentioned in earlier threads have vanished.
4. Have folks made their own ER20 collet chucks? If so, I'd love to hear from you and your experiences in making this or JT33 chucks.

thanks a bunch,

PS: I've been through many of the existing TTS threads.

If you really are interested in moving to CNC conversion eventually, you are probably a lot better off using an ER collet for your tool holders even if using the TTS system. I say that because you can "tap in" tools in a way that essentially eliminates TIR - especially in contrast to a weldon-type end mill holder. An ER-16 TTS collet holder is $40 from Tormach. As you move to smaller and cheaper end mills, TIR becomes more and more important. Watch this video:
