I believe my design is complete now. The piece on the right is just a spacer incase you need one. I'll be using one now that I have a DX4 on the way but I'd already printed the covers using a D40 clone vise. Otherwise, you can just use your slicer to scale the middle cover on the X axis to make it longer.

I've attached the STL files if anyone is interested.

I printed on a Bambulabs X1C using Bambulabs PLA Basic, .20mm layer height, 5 walls, and 20% infill.

I'm sure they're not perfect since I'm new to 3D printing and Fusion, however, this was my best shot at it.

ETA: I think I'm going to try designing some way wipers next that stick on with magnets for the X and Y axis.

I 3D printed some slot covers for my mill, and I found out the hot chips quickly made a mess of them. Your mileage may vary.

That's entirely possible too. I suppose I could see how ASA stands up to hot chips next as I have some of that around.

What filament were you using?

I was either using PLA or ABS. It has been a while since I did this. Also, I was cutting steel, so aluminum might not pose such an issue.

If it was ABS then me trying ASA won't make a difference to what you experienced.

I'll try some steel and aluminum out this weekend and see what happens to them after I get my X-axis power feed installed that should be here tomorrow.

If nothing else it's been a fun experiment for me to design them so no regrets there.
