PM-30 drawbar too short...

I've been using my PM-30 for several months and thought I'd read the manual. Apparently I'm not supposed to remove the "spindle cap" (part #100). But if I don't, the drawbar is too short to reach an r8 collet... A different thread said put it on top of the drawbar? Not on my mill... It seems like for some tool holders it needs to be on and for others not.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have a couple of R8 holders that engage only a couple of threads on my RF-45 clone drawbar. I've always thought about making a longer one but I just remove a washer like you have.
