Edit - that's a terrible deal after all! Maybe they're highly motivated to sell it and will negotiate hard. I didn't realize what the retail pricing on the machine to start with is - although it looks like that lathe is about $6400 + tax new so there's a bit of savings but in the shape it's in i'm not sure it's enough.
