So, in checking everything for level from the stand up I got some disturbing results, at least it caught my eye. I first placed 1,2,3 blocks on the ways (the flat part that the Saddle rides on and checked level across the Ways; level. Next I checked the length of the Ways for level; level Next I checked across the Ways on the elevated portion of the Ways and it was off bubble by almost a ¼". What's up with that?

I don’t own a PM so can’t say for sure but it looks like the rear way is designed to be smaller the the front way.
Do the grooves in the carriage match the ways?

The rear V way is for the tailstock and steady, the carriage uses the rear flat way.

Well that's a relief. I just need to keep turning and stop checking things (sometimes). Thanks

Now you need to turn a test bar to get is right.
