ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL OR EXPERIENCED HOME SHOP MACHINIST?
We Need Experienced Home-Shop and Professional Machinists to volunteer as MODERATORS!

We need experienced home-shop and professional machinists to volunteer as moderators on this forum. They should be able to guide newcomers on the setup and operation of machinery, guide them through projects, and mentor them online. No knowledge of forum operation is necessary- We will teach you all you need to know. A genuine desire to help others and advance the hobby and profession of machining is all you need. Loyalty to the forum, a high degree of honesty, trustworthiness and a desire to advance its goals is necessary. A retired machinist would be perfect!

Please consider helping us by volunteering to moderate in the following forums:

South Bend
Atlas-Atlas-Clausing
Asian Lathes & Mills
Van Norman-Cincinnati
Bridgeport-Bridgeport Clones

As well as any other forum where you see "Moderator Needed". Tony cannot do it alone, but is too nice to say so.
Please contact Tony Wells via PM and advise him what forum or forums you would like to moderate.

Thanks for helping out!!

I am opening this thread up and adding a description to what we would need moderators to do:

1. HELP people with issues on their machines

2. TEACH people the proper way to do things on their machines

3. SHOW newbies and other hobby-machinists how you accomplish various tasks

4. BE A FRIEND AND MENTOR to the people who come here

We are lucky- we have very few behavior-related problems on this board. Thank God for that!
Mostly, we want to educate and keep people coming back because they enjoy it here.
If you have any questions about what a moderator does and whether you could do it, please ask here.

Thank you for considering this. We need as much expertise as we can get. Many hands make for light work.

Nelson
