Parts ID needed

These came with my 12x36 Atlas, but I have no idea what the larger one might be. I know the smaller one is the guard for the cross slide, but the other one has me stumped. Any ideas?

Looks to be a part that bolts to the cross slide for a “home built?” taper attachment.
