Making strange noises like it is slipping a gear or something.
Seems to be limited to the upper back.

No idea if it'll fit your chair ... but I took the mechanicals out of a massage chair a couple years ago. Mechanism was working OK, we just didn't use the chair and it was wasting space. I'd be happy to send the stuff to you if you want it. PM me if interested, and I'll take some photos.

Thanks, I probably would not be able to retrofit.
When I am able, I will open it up and see what's what.
