OT: Checked out Clausing model 1301 lathe.

There is a Clausing lathe listing in Craigslist: Cortez CO. The machine is a13 X 36 with a collet spindle. There is a 6 jaw chuck with it but am not sure all of the mounting equipment is there. The collet tightening tube has some internal threads and the 6 jaw has a recess in the back plate but nothing I could figure out to connect the two. The machine has some rust ( outside storage?) but all the moveable parts seem to work. The cutting tool holder is missing also. The motor is 3 phase 5 HP and I am not sure of the voltage. It weighs 1500 pounds. No doubt what I don't know about this machine would fill several books but it is the size I would pick if I could manage it. The asking price ($3000) for this machine is excessive for my budget. There is no power to the storage area so it was not test run.

Seems pretty on topic for a hobby machine forum.

Pictures sure would be good, but without power to test I’d say it’s closer to scrap value than $3k
