Ok im looking at getting a 3C collet closer for my 8x14, are these collets more forgiving than a 5C collet, as far as wiggle room for rough stock, I do have a set of 5C for other things and the rough stock has to be spot on to fit in the collet, just woundering what you guys think before i go and buy the closer and 3C collets...........thank for your time..

Hi,

Nope they are no more forgiving than 5C. They are just meant for smaller spindles. Since the 8x14 has only a 3/4" spindle, it would perhaps be a more aproptiate choice than 5C. If you need flexability for sizing of parts, you may want to look into the ER style of collets.

Which 8x14 do you have? I have a HF 8x14.
I also have the HF and love it so you are saying ER style collets I wil have to go look..hhm LMS shoul have them thanks for your time..

Thanks for your time, I have one more question witch is the better type of ER collet's are there? also can you identify these collets from CDCO. for $50.00 they are probably cheaply built but for that price its got me ....

well the link will not let me show show the collets, but they are on the front page on their web site...
