I saw that same video posted on another machinist website. The things the membership on that site said about that video were evil, nasty, narrow minded and downright mean. I was astonished at how rotton some folks can be!
That video was posted on the HSM site, but everyone there had nothing but good things to say about it. Its nice to see a business built up like that, from the ground .... not started with $2 billion capital and all new stuff. Love to see ways people "create" ways of doing things.
That's why it's still open. No credit and overhead for the running of the business. This is what happens when you pass knowledge and skills to your kids. They inherit a good work ethic, respect for their family and a healthy independence from the banks.

I saw the original as well and thought that it was great. Keep the overhead low. But the family connection was the best. They took a break and actually chatted with each other. And in this age of hi tech cad/cam. I really loved their scratching out their plans on the dirt floor. Just proves that you don't have to spend millions to have a good business. Skill and knowledge are key.
I'd like to go see it in person, it's just about 2 hrs down the road from my place. I saw this video & thought now that's life! I was impressed with the kid wanting his kids to come in at some point as well. Good story. This is one of those times that reminds us that you can be rich without money.
