OLD SHELDON LATHE ASSEMBLY QUESTION

Took my grandpa's lathe apart and moved it, it set for 2 yrs before I assembled it again. got it all back together but have an EXTRA! part. looking for some help to find where it goes.

Could be the saddle lock?
 
Under front of carriage by rack.
 
If not there then check back side of carriage.at bottom edge..should be two bolts

Kool..now take it back apart.clean it up real good..oil the hell out of it.make some chips..you have a old but nice lathe..when clean and lubed all parts will move like melted butter
 
Yep that’s the plan, just wanted to make sure I could get it all together 1st, been a couple years since I took it all apart to transport it

Take pictures when disassembly is going on.you'll be glad you did in a month or two goes by.
