New Height Gage Set - Question about an Accessory

I bought the height gauge set on eBay several weeks ago.
I know what most of the parts/accessories are for.
I’m not sure what the two bars with the clamping holes are to be used for. Circled in yellow highlight.
Can anyone tell me? They might be some sort of indicator holder. But not sure.

they are for indicators. they appear to be .3" approx, which used to be a standard size for the shank of a test indicator. Nowadays, a dovetail attachment is more common. All dovetail indicators have an adapter to rounds of .3 and .2 of an inch
