Hello to all,
My name is Josh and I'm a machining addict. I started out machining with a lathe 6 years ago. Now I'm going into my second semester in college to get a degree in machine tool technology. I love it!!! I started out with a 1950's Atlas. Good lathe till it finally gave up the ghost. Now I have a Bolton 12x32. Seems to be a good machine so far. I'm really big into airguns, especially 25cal and larger. I do a lot of part making for myself as well as others. I guess you could say I'm an airgunsmith. Well thanks for letting me join your great forum and look forward to hearing the input and knowledge you guys have.

Welcome to the forum, Josh. I have a couple nice airguns and know that others do here as well. There are quite a few gunsmith types on the forum.

Welcome to HM Josh. Always good to have some young blood to bring the average down some with all us old farts. Cheers, Mike

Glad you joined HM RJ, my air guns are antique sheridans, not used much anymore. I have been wanting to make a spring piston set up that shoots wine corks " loud dog problem"
Do you have any pics of your airgunsmith work ?.

Thanks guys. Fomogo, glad to know there are some elders out here that welcome young folks to the show. I joined this site to pick up the tips and tricks from the old-time machinist. A real machinist is a dying breed. I want to keep it going.

I need to upload a bunch of pics to my photo bucket account. Most of the airguns I work on are bigbores. Cal's ranging from .257-.72. I make a lot of brass hammers, machine a lot of barrels. I'm in the process now of building my first prototype bigbore now. It will be chambered in .457 hoping to make 800+ fpe.

Yes it is Steve, the airguns I build and work on are very powerful. My 257 makes as much or more power than a 22 mag.
