Hi,
When I bought a new set of end mills, each came encased in a gummy material to protect the sharp edges. New router bits come like this as well.

What it's this material and where can I get it?

Mike.

They are dipped in a wax. You can purchase blocks of this and melt it yourself, kind of a pain unless you are using the wax everyday. Paces that do sharpening have this wax. I believe it’s available at.https://www.mcmaster.com/protective-dipping-wax
Cheers

Thank you gentlemen, very helpful.

Mike.

Would Plasti Dip be too hard to peal off?

I've used Plasti Dip for other things. I would think it would work out fine. I know it peels off easily.
Cheap and readily available. I'd try it.
