I've dealt with a wonky brake switch since the lathe was new. I fixed it a first time and re-bent/adjusted the lever arm that activates the switch. I never liked the design. The other day, I stomped the brake pretty hard and the lathe didn't stop the next time I used the brake. Turns out the lever slid past the switch and landed on the wrong side of the switch. The way this was designed was just terrible, so I decided to relocate the switch in a more direct line with the movement of the brake lever arm. Here is the result. The linkage was done with a turnbuckle, s-hooks, and chain.
