Today I cut polyurethane belts to length and welded them with a torch and an old stainless steel knife. As I chucked up a grinding wheel to clean up the joint, I realized "I can't grind this, I'm making belts because my belts are both broken". But I used my daughter's hair band as a temporary belt and got 'r done!

I do the easy way and order from a seller on ebay.
