I got my new motor from PM. They didnt have a write up but had some photos and some translations from Chinese that I was able to follow.
Couple of comments, the spring loaded pulley on the motor uses two M6x1.00x50 screws, either socket head or hex head. Screw these two screws into the cap that holds the spring tight against the pulley. As these screws screw in they enable the pulley to split apart making it easier to remove and later install the belt over the pulley. This is a must or you will start the F Bombs otherwise.
Thanks to David P Best for his video on how he removed his motor. Move the bed in the Y direction and put as much room behind the bed as you can. Lower the bed in the Z axis all the way down. Once this has occurred you can rotate the motor head so that it is pointing straight down. Remove the two screws that attaches the rubber mat to the mill column and lay it over the bed.
Raise the bed in the Z axis such that it comes up tight to the motor (dont forget to put a piece of wood on the rails as you dont want to damage them). You can now remove the 4 socket head screws that hold the motor on. Now lower the Z axis and this starts the lowering of the motor to the point you can tip it and get it out of the way. Install a new motor in the reverse manner.
Thanks to PM for the new motor (under warranty) and the write up with photos from China, that really helped.
All is good now. I need to tram my bed to the spindle, but that is for another day as I have other things pressing right now.
