What part numbers should/be be cast onto parts for a 9A steady rest??
Anyone have one of these?
Thanks

the telescoping jaw steady rest, which is the better of the 2 they made is catalog number CL2400N for the SB9.

I had the steady and follow rests, but they went with my 9A when I sold it.

Will get numbers off mine tomorrow

Mine, not telescoping, looks like a genuine SB steady rest. However, it has no numbers on it.

Edit: see post #7 below. Starting to question whether mine is a SB original.

These are the only marks on mine, it’s a factory original.
Top section 126NR1
Bottom section 125N1
Both pieces have SP on them
I purchased fingers with rollers.
These steady rests are for all the SB9, A,B& C models.

Mine that I referenced in the post just above yours looks like yours without the rollers, and without any markings. Came with my 1941 South Bend 9a. Wondering why it has no markings. Did SB make different versions over the years? Or is mine not a SB?

I think N is the code for the 9" lathes. believe the serial numbers have an N code in them.

Thanks for the replies, pic's and numbers folks!
Keep 'em coming Folks, really appreciated as I am currently looking for one to fit my SB 9A.
There are so dang many on E-bay and many are vaguely described and lack good pictures I want to be sure, if I purchase one there that it will be the correct one and fit properly.
I need to get some 16" lengths of 1-1/2" round bar stock to run true for drilling and tapping plus cutting grease reliefs.
