Need help assembling RF 30 mill and locating missing pieces

I've got up a low time RF 30 mill that someone tried to convert to CNC but never completed and in turn lost some parts. I've got a parts breakdown from the manual and can't seem to figure out reinstalling the Y lead screw. It appears I have all the parts, but the handle end of the lead screw where it passes through the bearings is loose. Almost like there should be a bushing in there or the shaft was turned down, all bearings have the same I.D. Has anyone taken theirs apart recently that can recall how this goes? Also, I'm missing the X screw so if anyone has extra parts I'd looking to buy the screw and other misc items.

Appears the shaft has been turned down. Hand wheel on mine is attached via a set screw, indicator dial uses a roll pin. No nuts or threads involved.

Thank you! That info is a huge help, no wonder nothing fits. Guess I'll make a bushing to make up the difference
