I often wish I had a metric rule when I'm holding a inch rule or the other way around. This has both.

Those little 6" steel machinist rules that you can carry around in your pocket come in both imperial and metric. $8 for the SPI or $13 for the "fancy" mitutoyo (they look the same). Worth having a couple in your tool box.

That's been the problem. The one I need is always in the box while I have the other in my pocket.
