A few months ago I decided to upgrade my lathe from the Derbyshire Magnus to a Pultra because the opportunity came to purchase a Pultra lathe and living in the uk and it being made in England I thought accessories would be easier to come by, when I purchased it it was listed as a 17/50 but when it turned up to my hap surprise it turned out to be a 17/70 ( 70mm centre ) it was in a bit of a state when I got it but the headstock had no play and was very smooth, the bed was good and everything lined up.
so it was totally stripped down cleaned, old paint removed, then all running surfaces masked up, primed, and painted in 2K Reseda green , rebuilt using new wicks.
I have 3 & 4 jaw chucks, face plate, carrie, set of 10mm collets from 1 to 8mm in 0.1mm increments, box chuck, also other collets up to 25mm, 10 Blanca collets and a good few soft collets crosslide,
( that I have added Multifix QCTP to ), leaver tailstock taking 10mm collets, screw MT1 tailstock, vertical slide, milling/grinding spindle.
using some of the blank arbors I have made slitting saw arbors and other things I needed, I have fitted it with an industrial sewing machine motor under the bench but removed the foot pedal and replaced it with a potentiometer because my leg twitches, I must admit I am very pleased with it , the torquse is very good even at the lowest speed.
I have added indexing to it because the pultra indexing attachments are as rare as rocking horse poo, it wasn’t a problem because I had removed the quick collet closer as I found it a pain.

Nice Lathe! I am fascinated by the small lathes.

Cutting oil is my blood.

Thanks twhite
I still have to sort out motor for the milling/ grinding spindle but I haven’t got my head around that yet because I want it to run in line as well as 90 degrees, I only restore antique clocks so I want the milling spindle to cut clock wheels and pinions.
