Thanks to Enco's recent 20% off with free shipping I decided to pull the trigger on a pair of Mitutoyo digital mic's in the 0-1" and 1-2" sizes. These are so easy to read I love them.
Nice choice.....my eyes are such that I can no longer reliably read my vernier scales without a magnifying light or lens.
I am starting to consider some digital measuring tools too (calipers and mics).
Very nice mics indeed Now that you have a nice set of digital mics, you really need to try out one of their best fetures: If you are trying to machine to a dimension, just set the mic and put it into incremental mode. That way the mic will tell you how much more needs to come off. Very handy on a lathe without the aid of a DRO. And also helpfull for those metric jobs on an inch machine.
