Fowler 0-6" 0.0001" interchangeable anvil mic set, like new. Numeric dial reads in tenths! $74 shipped!

Feels very heavy...comes with standards.

Dorsey 0.0001" dial indicator with secondary range dial and 0-0.050" range $25 shipped!!

My goal here is to be able to measure inside and outside dimensions from 0" to 6" in tenths...so the dial indicator was supposed to replace the 0.001" indicator that came with my shars bore gauge. Unfortunately it looks like its a little too short to reach the internal plunger. :( Maybe I can cut the bore gauge split tube down?

Or are there such things as extended plungers for dial indicators? The little tip unscrews...

As long as the indicator takes the industry standard 4-48 threaded tips you buy about any shape or length you want.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#indicator-tips/=ulf372

you rock thank you!!

man those arent cheap..thats almost as much as the indicator itself. How bad would it affect accuracy if I just used a 4-48 standoff or screw head? Or mayber just a spacer?

EDIT: wait never mind, I guess I can just get the "regular" ones instead of the carbide ones, and those are only $3!

so that plus my hy-spot paste is shaping up a mcmaster order..hmm what else do i need

You can buy a whole kit of imports for pretty cheap. I really need some my self. Both extensions and spoon tips is what I want.

Yeah, what chuck said! Buy the whole import indicator tip set. They're cheap and you'll have a wide assortment of tips to use in the future. They're nice to have when you need to indicate some awkward spot. It comes up often.

if the diameter isnt too large, Ive made extensions for indicators that you press onto the knurled tip that comes with it. made alot of button heads that way too. I ground large rolls for several years that were suction rolls. They had holes all around them, so button heads were a must.
