Hi folks from down in Trinidad, I'm an electronics guy (industrial and medical) with some machining skills and semi-reired. The workshop at home is split between electronics lab and machine shop. In the machine shop I have a Grizzly 9x20 Lathe (seriously modified), Grizzly Mini-Mill (4-axis CNC modified), 4x6 Bandsaw with flood, two CNC laser engravers, CNC plasma-jet cutting table, MIG, TIG and stick welders, small 3 in 1 bending brake and a manual plasma cutter. Of course the usual suspects, hydraulic press, drill presses, angle and bench grinders, etc.
Have had the mini-mill 15 years now and converted it to CNC and added the 4th axis in 2013. Always wanted a bigger, stiffer, more capable milling machine (Bridgeport), but of course financial and space restrictions. So, after long consideration I've decided to pull the trigger on a PM-935TS-3PH, DRO, Align X drive, Align Z drive, 5" Vise, R8 collet set, clamping kit, etc, etc.
So, I'm here to learn and also to share what little I know....... so the excitement begins. Here's what the shop looks like presently:

And, here's a glimpse of the electronics lab (yes,it's a mess right now):

So many toys, too little time!
But finally getting the shop ready to enjoy this retirement thing (we all know there's no way I'm really retiring!) :)

Hi Cletus,
Welcome (back?) to Hobby Machinist. Looks like you have a very well equipped shop. I, we, look forward to seeing some of your projects.

Well, two recent projects are my shop crane (a highly modified engine hoist) and i'm working on a stand-alone controller/driver for my CNC Rotary Table (this will be completed today). Will post some pics soon.

Here's that Cherry-Picker. It's going to come in handy when the mill arrives! :)

Basic engine hoist, modified with a 12V winch, battery charge/management system, shortened outriggers (removable) and a 2:1 mechanical advantage hook-pulley block. All the mods were fabricated using my Langmuir Crosfire CNC Plasma-Jet cutting table (which I also modified for a Z-axis Auto THC) :)
I just can't leave things as they are! :)

Love the modifications to that cherry picker. Any guesses as to what the lifting capacity is in that configuration?
