I know Cab ( Robert ) has a 3996 and could answer this in a hurry , but I haven't seen him since Tuesday . Anyone willing to make a quick check ? It may just fit a standard 12" Atlas , Craftsman , Clausing as well .

Can anyone with an Atlas Clausing 3996 check and post the diameter of the tailstock quill please ? I think I have one but need to be sure before listing it . TIA . Diameter of this one 1.125 Length is 5.300 Keyway is .156 Thread possibly 7/16s-20

Sorry for the delay. The tailstock ram on my 3996 measures 1.2450" dia. Length is 5.312". Width of the anti-rotate slot is about 0.150". The part number is 9-8. Which means that it will fit every thing back to the 9". The screw, however, is 10D+34. So they must have made some change to it between the 10C and the 10D.

Whether it would fit a Clausing 100/4800 or not I don't know. I could look up that part number but I do not have the Clausing drawing.
