Well not exactly zero, I got a lot of his hair and what looked like part of his tail. Bastard.
He got the food, I've got a headache, as he is eating all the soft goods in the shed.
Bastard.

If using a snap trap, drive some short drywall screws thru the bottom around the trigger. Make sure that none of them interfere with either the trigger or bail. Once modified, no mouse will ever escape the trap again!

Try making one of these….
I did it with a piece of 2x4

You use jute twine for the trigger and a bit of peanut butter on the twine inside the holes.
The cull loops are annealed tie wire, hooked to a couple torsion springs that are surprisingly strong.
If the holes and triggers are deeper, the less likely the mouse can escape.

The capacitor while tempting also means me or my dog can take a hit.
seems like a pain to tie the jute to hold the spring. did you create another type of hold to help with the tying?

edit: one more thing, how do you thread the jute through those small holes on the bottom, jute being jute has hairy fibers that don't really help thread through narrow holes.

I’m already thinking about a design, pet friendly, that could use a one shot ( or multiple timed impulses) to do the job

As far as the jute went, I cussed a lot- then I bent a small piece of solid copper wire around the jute and used it like a needle-problem solved .
I suppose if you waxed the jute with a candle (or other source of wax) it would be easier to handle and tie.
There are some pretty good smelling candles out there that make me want to eat them, I wonder if them meeces might also be attracted by different candle smells

what size capacitor do you think would be needed to fry the little buggers?
