I modified my 1/4" face spanner by drilling the back side .180, and adding .18? old drill bit(a little rust) pins tapped in by a hammer. I unsuccessfully tried to get the Left hand thread spindle nose piece off. No go with arm strength, no go with the dead blow, and I tried a couple of taps with a real hammer, it did not budge. I had to tap the spindle back afterwards because it made the quill stiff retracting. I had the quill lock set, and the brake set as well. I'm not sure what to try to get the nose piece off. I did double check "off" rotation.....
Got some new chips on the new mill finally, and it runs, and drills awesome.
