milling machine in craigs list, does this look like a good deal?

Have you seen the thread going on. http://www.hobby-machinist.com/showthread.php/10114-Differences-in-RF45-clones?referrerid=18212.
I don't think it is a deal unless there is some nice tooling that comes with it. My opinion :bitingnails:I would put it in the fair for both sides catagory. Like anything else deals are in the eye of the beholder and If all you have or are going to have is $1,000 and want a 45 clone mill then get it and work with it.

Those are digital scales with a remote and are not like a true DRO. Not very accurate from what I have read. They are sold by Shars maybee others too.

I should have said that if $1,000 is your budget anytime in the near future and not the $2,348 for a new PM45 then get it and make it a $2,348 mill over time.

thanks for the link to the other thread, and yes I can take a deep breath and swing $100 now, but that about the top of my money right now. i was going to go with a new LMS machine, til I saw this one. I have an email to the seller with some questions. I'll see what the answers are and go from there.

$900 for a RF45 clone in decent looking condition, hell yeah, I would! Sounds like it just needs a new starting cap which is no big deal.

well, I guess it was a deal, it's sold a couple of days ago, he just didn't pull the ad.

and the search goes on.
