Since I cannot find any collet nuts with an imperial thread and my south bend 9A does not have metric gears so I was thinking I could use a feed rate that is close to the pitch of the metric thread required, in this case, 1.5mm which has a pitch of .059055 ( 1 / (25.4/1.5)) and thread without the half nuts leaving the clutch engaged in fwd and rev.
The closest feed rate with the QCGB is .0594 which results in a .58% error or 3.4 tenths/thread. I only need to engage a couple threads, so do you think this will be close enough for an ER collet nut on a home made collet chuck?
