Going to weld up a stand for my PM-30mv mill. With vise, it should be around 600 lbs.
My first thought was to get some 2x2 square tube steel, 3/16" thick, and then build a frame around an old craftsman toolbox (stand will sit on the floor - toolbox will just sit inside the frame, not part of the structure). Something very similar to what this guy did: Stand build
Put levelers underneath. Set the chip pan on the top of the stand then bolt through.
I tend to way overthink things out of habit. Is 3/16" thick enough? Should just go thicker with 1/4" instead?
Thanks in advance.
