Hi,
I have a Mesa Tool 1/2" Turning Bar.

It takes a DPGB 21.51 Insert.

I can not find these anywhere except on the Mesa Tool Site?

I find it hard to believe the Owner has these made special just for him?

Looking for info on this.

Sold by MSC, also do an eBay search for "insert dpmt" and you find many listings. FYI, it is not uncommon for manufactures to have proprietary inserts, and when they discontinue the model you are stuck with a door stop.

Hi,
Thanks all!

I ordered some DPGT 21.51, to see if they will work?

One letter off but all I could find for a better price.

Hi,
Also looked at MSC, plenty of DPGT but no DPGB!

Will see if the DPGT'S work!

DPGT should work cause I use DPMT inserts in my Mesa holders that I use for my Holdridge.

DPGT is just a tighter tolerance than DPMT. Which in turn usually means sharper edges because they're often ground to achieve said tighter tolerances. Should work fine, might not be as robust, but will probably be better for light cuts and aluminum.

Hi,
Well these are for my 1940's Clausen 12x36.

It does have Timken Roller Bearings so can get up to a good speed for Carbide Tooling.

Will be interesting on how these work but cheaper anyway which helps and can always get NOS or other deals with a more available insert!

Hi,
Well got in the new inserts and they work great!

Thanks to everyone for the help!

$25 per 10 beats $80, all day long!
