Thanks to Benny for enabling me I got a nice tap & die set 9/16"-1" & got it for the low price of ......... Best offer:lmao:

He also brought me back this cool lamp, I believe it's an old dentist light, I will be restoring it in the near future. It had a $3.00 price tag on it and didn't sell so he saved it from the scrapper & gave it to me.

Nice. I also found a complete set of Greenfield 1/2" to 1 1/12 Tap and Dies. Two trays in one wooden box. Never used, brand new in the box. I did have to pay $ 120.00. I've been making delrin big bolts and am experimenting with dying them to look like metal for some Art projects.

That is a great light. You have the best luck at your scrap yard.

I have the exact same light. There is a night light behind the switchpod. 7 watt bulb I think. Mine sits beside the bed for reading and such. I,too, saved mine from the dumpster. Rewired it and a paint job. Painted the inside of the cover bright white to reflect the light. Your is the second one I've seen. I'd love to know how old these thing are. P.S. Running new wire is a real fun job..........tie a stout cord on the old wire so you have some help pulling the new ones into the tight places.

Thanks for the tip, post a picture of yours if you don't mind

I've got to go to Lubbock this AM to console the daughter/step daughter over her fathers suicide. I'll take a couple pictures this afternoon.
I love mine! it's my favorite reading light. I found, thru careful measurement and some trial and error, a CFB that fits it. With the WHITE light and the flat white paint under the hood it is a no glare reading light deluxe. Rewireing it was a PITA, but it was well worth it. Mine was a "give me". They are quite old judging from the wire mine had in it. The insulation was petrified, and of the very old variety. Both my switches are good to go just wire needed. Fix it and you too will have a treasure.
