The book Machine Shop Trade Secrets is an excellent source of tips, tricks and common sense articles on primarily machine work, tools and setup. I believe almost every person that uses this site would benefit from having one. I have no relationship with anyone connected to it, however, I am a voracious reader and have a fairly extensive library. I refer to this book a fair amount and have read it several times. As always when book shopping try EBAY first, even if you don't like them, and then AbeBooks. Brian.

This is one of the first books I purchased when I got the machinist bug about 6 or 7 years ago. I remember when I first got the book, I couldn't put it down. I still find myself going back to it from time to time. The author Mr James Harvey seems to be a very humble man that has spent his career working as a machinist. Luckily he has preserved years of on the job training & experience in a book that can be passed on to the future. I highly recommend the book.
