I struggled with controlling flood coolant splatter and flying swarf on my Tormach. I bought the backsplash and chip guard but they are not that effective. I had seen other mods like putting up risers and covers , again with their own problems.
My solution was to cut a 12" x 36" piece of 6 mil clear vinyl and hold it in place with magnets on the head.
The curtain is completely adjustable and follows the spindle, riding over the workpiece and/or fixtures and effectively controls both swarf and coolant under the most aggressive conditions.
I use the magnets to hold it out of the way for tool changes, etc.
