I got many steelpieces from a training benchpress, that I thought to make vise of. But then I found out that I could do a bench press to my vintage car-project.

Then I found out that I was going to try to use a simple and inexpensive jack, which I turned upside down. I hoped that it would work with the extra oil tank (top), and get out the air from the reservoir within the fillplug. I glued on a standpipe, which got the hose connection to the new oil tank on top.

Yes, this worked!
I have not seen other doing this! So I was e litle persent suprised!?
The jack was 2 tonn, but I will try a 6 tonns since it worked well.
obs: there shall be to nuts on each side on top, like in the bottom.
So then I have to be happy?

I need the press in the weekend, but I put a 6 tons jacked in first. I should change a king pin in a Renault Dauphine.

First with av 2 tons jacked, but it was to hard.
With av 6 tons it worked very well!

I also changed a rear axle in my Volvo Duett from a Amazon with 1:4,1 ratio.
It has 1:4,56 before.

I won 300 r/min down with 3000 r/min.

Some old brackets from the rear axle I reuse to hold my lathe to the floor. Then I got use of my old wise. Easy and safe:

neat work Torbo, that looks like a very useful and space efficient tool. That vise looks really cool too, any more pictures/ details?

The starting point was good, but some surface rust that had to be removed first.
The drives were " tight " and fine , but a wheel bearing was a little worn . It was replaced . A shaft was missing some thread , so it will be changed later.
If talking with the vendor first.
I could not use drivakslig from the Duett , as it has finer splines in the diff .
Kronhul and pinion inside was rather larger dimensions than on my Duett and PV.
So now I have two extra with Rear 1:1,56 exchange.
Although the wedges in the shaft is different between PV / Duett and Amazon .
Of Brake drums that came with was a good ( little worn out) , but were much worn . So it should be discarded !
The one I turned so I have it as a spare.
How it looked the day I got it :

Quite a job to grind off the old mounts . They were ten times more complicated than the duet .

New parties :

Then we had to line up and get the angles right with new fixings and get goals correct.

After mounting shaft was less than a millimeter correct .

Based on test drive - exciting!
And successful. Do not think I care to procure 1:1,373 exchange, when everything is working very well now. Thinking only one road trip may be something to think about, but then the other gears somewhat high .

This is the result:
Så skal vi se:
Slik ble målingene:
1500 r/min : 50 km/t
2000 r/min : 65 km/t
2500 r/min : 80 km/t
3000 r/min : 95 km/t
3500 r/min : 110 km/t
4000 r/min : 125 km/t
(tallene er rundet) - difficult to see exact on the rpm-meter.

Både GPS og speedometer viser dette...

In my little garage somthing is going on:

I took this picture for to hers ago.

How I safe the camshaft?

A trick is to make holes in the lifters to gain less weight.
And my special trick is to get them to rotate and grind lubrication groove in them where the extra oil comes on the camshaft.

The camshaft is a weak point on Volvo B16/B18/B20.
Not for me!!!

Huge moment from the engine, and good noise....
