I went to use my mill yesterday after a long period of in activity. The tablet was stone cold dead so took a while to charge enough to start.
When it did I discover that all axes had lost their calibration.
Is this expected behaviour?

David,
This is not an expected behavior, and really, not even a possible behavior (unless your tablet bas bad flash memory chip).
TouchDRO stores calibration data in non-volatile memory (in most tablets, it's flash memory). Non-defective flash's retention time is measured in decades or centuries. Dead battery should not wipe the data.

Interesting.
I don’t really want to repeat the calibration so I’ll try and keep it charged.
It’s an Amazon fire tablet fwiw.

Once you recalibrate take note of the settings in case something happens to the tablet (or you get a larger one). When I changed from a Samsung 8" to a Fire 10" I just entered the original calibration numbers and then did a check – still spot-on.
