Looking for a Mentor near Hermosa Beach CA....

Hello,

Not sure if this the right location for this post, but I am looking for a machinist mentor local to my area. I am located in Hermosa Beach CA..... I do not have any experience in metal work other than a little bit of welding. I would love to learn how to operate a lathe and mill..

Ok, thanks for that link. I am going to look into that.

So what type of metal work are you looking to get into? Its just general stuff for me. I have always wanted to learn. I ride off-road, and cycle often. So there would be projects in that arena at a minimum.

Do you have any equipment now? I own a tig, mig, and oxy welding machines. Would love to get a bench top lathe and mill someday when I can make good use of them.
